                      TEEN AND FAMILY THERAPIST


- Key Result Areas 

The Teen and Family Therapist plays a key role on the clinical team. She works under the clinical direction and leadership of the Executive Director and the Clinical Director. She leads and provides Biblically based individual, family, and group therapeutic interventions within the  treatment model. She completes psychosocial assessments and documents interventions. She works as a member of the staff team to coordinate treatment for each student. She also coordinates the communication of clinical data to Psychiatrists, Psychologists and other clinicians. She maintains an upbeat supportive environment for parents, students, referral sources, and callers. 

-Qualifications 

   • Master’s Degree from accredited clinical school 

   Licensed or pursuing license as an LCSW or LMFT 

   Clinical training and experience with adolescent and family therapy 

   Experience in Christian discipleship, lay leadership or professional ministry

 - Clinical Competence 

          o Systems theory and Structural Family Therapy experience
o Experience or willingness to be trained in Dialectical Behavior Therapy
o Experience with DSM-IV / V diagnosis of adolescents
o Psychosocial assessment and treatment planning experience
o Experience facilitating group therapy interventions
o Experience or ability to work as a key member of a multi-disciplinary team          


o Oversee documentation, files and clinical records management for students
o Ability to establish trust and a healthy therapeutic rapport
o Motivation, desire and natural gifting to work with teens
o Understand and maintain professional boundaries with students and families 

Christian Discipleship

o Model a Christ-centered lifestyle to students, families, and referral sources
o Effectively use Biblical perspective within therapeutic behavioral interventions
o Support parents in Christian parenting principles
o Maintain appropriate boundaries between clinical and spiritual program components o Experience in ministry leadership, lay leadership or church involvement 

- Customer Service 

o Hospitable, friendly and welcoming personality
o Strong written and verbal communication skills
o Diplomatically serve as liaison between staff, parents, and referring professionals 

o Support staff team with clinical perspective and creative intervention ideas
o Serve in on-call staff support rotation
